Sikyong launches the first Tibetan residential apartment in Bangalore

Bylakuppe 7 July: Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, the elected head of Tibetan people, formally launched “Dikyi Khangsar” (name given by HH the Dalai Lama) FTCI’s apartment building during the event organized for the Launch at Lugsam Tibetan cooperative conference hall on July 6 evening in the presence of Chairmen of 5 Tibetan cooperatives in Karnataka, Chief Representative and Representatives from 4 Tibetan settlements in Karnataka, media and staff of FTCI head office and Bylakuppe branch.

Mr Pema Delek, FTCI Chairman gave brief background information on the site where this apartment project will be started. In his talk, Mr Pema Delek mentioned that Karnataka Government has graciously given about 25,000 sft land to FTCI on long term lease and we have already started construction of office and staff quarter. He further mentioned that the new apartment will be constructed at the same area.

Dr Lobsang Sangay, then launched Dikyi Khangsar apartment project. He appreciated the initiatives made by Tibetan cooperatives in general and FTCI in particular. He said this apartment would be helpful for Tibetans residing in Bangalore City.

FTCI CEO Mr Tashi Wangdu thanked the Sikyong, media and dignitaries for attending this launch event. He also said the location of the apartment is convenient and price is affordable.

This five-story Dikyi Khangsar apartment will have 65 units of apartment. The apartment block will be made up of approximate 300 sft (1bhk), 600 sft (2bhk) and 900 sft (3bhk). The apartment will be given on long term lease and the lease amount starts from Rs 8.1 lakhs.

Dekyi Khangser apartment will be constructed at Kengeri in Bangalore West. It will be approximately 3 Km from Mysore Road, 13 km away from the Dalai Lama institute for Higher Education, 13 Km from Majestic and 3 Km from Bangalore University. The dwellers of apartment will be provided with amenities like prayer and banquet hall, library, gymnasium, indoor game, laundry service, lift, parking area, kids play and generator for common areas lighting. There will also be guesthouse and restaurant within the same compound.

The booking starts on 1 Oct and close on 31 Dec, 2013 and allotment will be done on 1 Mar 2014.
